Regional Observing Systems

There are two prototype regional observing systems now within the U.S.; one is for the Gulf of Maine and the other is for the Gulf of Alaska. Their web sites may provide useful background information for our workshop. They are organized and financed completely differently. A number of non-US GOOS Regional Alliances exist or are in process of formation.
