Ocean Observing Systems

The College of Geosciences now offers a specialty certificate in Ocean Observing Systems. The certificate focuses on one of the newest (and most exciting) directions for oceanographic research. Just started in the Fall of 2006, this program is gaining popularity with current students and can also be a beneficial program to add to any degree!

GIS & Remote Sensing

The Department of Geography and Department of Forest Science co-sponsor certificate programs for students wishing to further specialize their degrees. Such certificates include Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and/or Remote Sensing available through the Department of Geography. Though these are not specific to the Oceanography Department, these certificates can be incorporated into any degree program or to satisfy the Master of Geosciences degree. Anyone interested in these certificates should contact the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Geography.
