Research Interests

My primary focus is tectonism and deformation along the Ninetyeast Ridge in the Indian Ocean. My studies incorporate seismic, gravity, magnetic, and bathymetric data into a comprehensive picture of the Ridge's current state of deformation and subsidence, as well as how it fits into the regional plate dynamics. By unraveling the history of the Ninetyeast Ridge's tectonism, I hope to gain insight into the changing conditions the Ridge underwent during its ~48 million year emplacement.

Secondary research interests include multibeam echosounding acquisition and processing for the generation of bathymetric maps.

Other Fields of Study:

  •  Use of the Generic Mapping Tools (GMT) and data visualization techniques for scientific data representation.
  •  Implementation and development of Open Source software tools in research.
  •  Seismic data acquisition in both terrestrial and marine enviroments.
